Victor Link privacy policy
Effective date: 1 October 2026. This policy covers Victor Link for iPhone and iPad, firmware downloads from the Victor website and related support.
Operator and contact
Egbert Veenstra Webdevelopment, established in the Netherlands, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. For support or privacy questions, email [email protected].
Your Victor configuration
Victor Link processes routines, steps, schedules, NFC tag identifiers, device settings and connection information to display and update your Victor’s configuration over Bluetooth. Wi-Fi names and passwords you enter are sent to your Victor so it can connect to your network. This configuration is not uploaded to a Victor cloud account. No account is required to use the app.
The app stores preferences on your iPhone or iPad and can keep a local migration backup when upgrading older firmware. Configuration remains on Victor until you change or delete it there. Deleting the app removes its local app data, but does not erase Victor or backup files you exported. Your system backup settings can also affect copies of local app data.
App Review demo mode uses sample configuration data without connecting to Victor. Edits in this mode stay in memory for the current demo session and are discarded when you exit or reset the demo, or close the app. Demo data is not sent to a Victor device or our servers. If you export a demo backup, that file remains in the location you choose until you delete it.
Backups and troubleshooting
You choose whether and where to export a backup or share logs through the system file and sharing interfaces. A destination may be cloud storage or another app, whose own privacy practices apply. Review files before sharing: configurations and logs may contain personal routine names, tag identifiers or device information.
You can clear in-app logs from the Logs screen. Delete exported files from the storage location you chose. We receive a backup or log only if you choose to send it to us.
Firmware requests and hosting
The app checks the Victor website for available firmware and downloads firmware when needed. These requests disclose network information, such as your IP address, request time, requested file, response status and client software information, to the hosting services. Routine contents, tag data and Wi-Fi passwords are not included in firmware requests.
Egbert Veenstra Webdevelopment manages the website on Hetzner infrastructure in Nuremberg, Germany. Cloudflare provides network delivery and security. Network information is processed to deliver downloads, diagnose errors and protect the service against abuse. Cloudflare also derives approximate country information from IP addresses and provides traffic statistics, such as request counts and countries, for operating and understanding use of the download service. The app does not request location permission.
Our server keeps up to 14 rotated access and error log files, rotating daily when a log is non-empty. Access logs normally cover about two weeks; infrequently written error logs can remain longer. Application server logs are replaced as they reach a 10 MB size limit, so their age depends on traffic. Access is restricted to service administration and troubleshooting.
On our current Cloudflare Free plan, sampled security events are available for up to 24 hours and security traffic data for up to seven days. Aggregate traffic statistics can cover longer periods. We have not configured Logpush exports or Cloudflare Web Analytics. These dashboard periods are not a promise that all provider recovery or security records expire at the same time; Cloudflare’s own retention practices also apply. See its security data retention documentation.
The app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and we do not use configuration or support information for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. We do not sell your personal information.
Support email
When you contact us, we use your email address, message, our replies and attachments you choose to send to handle your request. Our normal support inbox is hosted by Migadu-Mail GmbH, Switzerland. Migadu states that its mail servers are located in France. Access is limited to people handling support.
We keep correspondence while handling your request and, where needed for follow-up, for up to 12 months after resolution. We review the inbox monthly and delete information sooner when unnecessary. Inactive requests are reviewed after 90 days. We aim to remove spam and trash within 30 days. This policy includes sent replies and attachments.
We may retain the minimum necessary information longer if a legal obligation or ongoing legal claim requires it. We review these exceptions at least every three months and delete information when the reason ends.
Deletion from the live inbox does not necessarily remove copies from Migadu’s recovery backups immediately. Backup copies are subject to the provider’s recovery and deletion practices. We handle requests to delete correspondence from the live mailbox; contact us for information about provider recovery copies.
Why we process information and who handles it
We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to support requests and running a secure, reliable download service and understanding its traffic. Where processing is required to comply with a legal obligation, that obligation is the basis for processing. We use the service providers named above to operate these services, and disclose information when legally required. We do not use support messages to make automated decisions about you.
Cloudflare operates a global network and information may be processed outside the European Economic Area. Its data processing terms describe the safeguards it uses for international transfers. The providers describe their processing and protection practices in the Cloudflare privacy policy, Hetzner privacy policy and Migadu privacy policy.
Your choices and rights
You control the configuration on Victor and the files you export or share. You can revoke Bluetooth permission in iOS Settings, which prevents the app from communicating with Victor.
Contact [email protected] to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information we hold, or to request restriction, object to processing or request portability where applicable. We may need proportionate information to verify your request. We handle requests under applicable data protection law and explain any information we must retain.
You may complain to your local data protection authority or the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
We publish updates at this URL and update the effective date. Material changes affecting app users will also be noted in the app’s release information.
